COPELAND/SPODE

Josiah Spode was the founder of the famous Spode pottery in Stoke-on-Trent in 1784. The history of the firm can be divided into three periods:

Josiah Spode 1784-1833
Copeland & Garrett 1833-1847
WT Copeland & Sons 1847-present

All three companies used the name Spode to describe their wares, continuing a tradition of excellence that now reaches back over 220 years.
